Spring Lecture Series "Unity of Times", dedicated to the 70-th aniversary of the Roerich Pact (15 april - 30 may, 2005)
"White Lotus Day" celebration, 8 may, 2005 |
The monthly Internet
magazine "Palitra" has been published in Bulgarian since November
2003. It is a completely non-commercial project
maintained by a group of volunteers. In the selection of the published
material,
preference is given to works concerning the intersection of science,
art, and philosophy and their synthesis. In the short period since its inception, the magazine has published the works of N. Berdyaev, K. Tsiolkovski, father P. Florenski, N. Roerich, N. Losev, V. Solovyov, S. Mihailovski, Geo Milev, N. Rainov in the Philosophy section. Great attention has been devoted to the philosophical legacy of H. P. Blavatsky, with a focus on works unaccessible to the Bulgarian audience for more than a century.
The Literature
section has presented modern Bulgarian poets (N. Kolev, S.
Slavcheva, B. Cholakova, Y. Perfanov, B. Zlatev, M. Gyuzeleva) and
writers (S. Valev, K. Yordanov, M. Deshev, Y. Deyanova), as well as
classical authors such as O. Mandelshtam, A. Heydok, N. Roerich, D.
Podvarzachov, N. Rainov, H. Yasenov, N. Rakitin, I. Grozev.
The Science section comprises the works of V. Vernadsky, N.
Kozirev, L. Gindilis, T. Taylor, K. Srinivasa Rao. "Palitra" has also published classics of the
ancient wisdom such as "The Emerald Tablet of Hermes" and
Simeon
ben Yohai's commentary to Zohar "Sifra di-Zeniuta". An editorial
column "Footnotes" is dedicated to current social issues from the
public
life. Special issues of "Palitra" marked the 100th anniversary of
S. Roerich, the 130th anniversary of N. Roerich, and the 70th
anniversary of
the Roerich Pact. The Spring Lecture Series "Unity of Times", which
took place during April and May 2005, was also dedicated to the
70th anniversary of the Roerich Pact. This Series was organized
by the "Palitra" Internet Magazine and the "Nova Palitra" society, with
the support of the "Art Ideas - Spiritual Light"
foundation and featured the
following lecturers: Tsvetan Tsekov
("Karandash"), a renown Bulgarian
artist
and a researcher of Leonardo Da Vinci's art; Konstantin Medarov, a
historian; Dr. Tatiana Stantcheva, a physicist; Dr. Nikolay Kolev, a
philosopher; and Boyko
Zlatev, an astronomer and a poet. The lectures fell broadly into
two categories: the research and
preservation of cultural monuments of different historical
epochs, and the evolutionary laws in the development
of
humanity. The Lecture Series was covered in the Bulgarian Media
and attracted numerous attendants, including scientists, cultural
public figures, and members of various societies such as the Society of
the Friends of the Russian Book, the National Bulgarian Roerich
Society, and the Petar Dimkov Society.
In addition to publishing monthly issues, the editors of "Palitra" are
also working on a project to create internet pages about renown
enlightened persons.
In 2004, pages about H. P. Blavatsky,
A. Heydok,
and S. Roerich
were completed and published.
